we're back!

[y] notice, no more 'k' after the 'y'! so i've been having trouble adjusting to a new signature...i can't find a good way to sign 'Wu'. it just looks like a squiggly line because it's really 3 u's in a row. i'm on a hunt for all female Wu's to see how they sign their last name. i miss my kuo =(

so g and i are back from the honeymoon, tanner and fatter than ever! we laid out on the beach, ate lots of expensive food, shopped, played in the beautiful azure waters of the caribbean, went snorkeling and jetskiing, and did some sightseeing. oh we also watched the entire 5th season of 24 =). we will post some pictures as soon as we have the chance...

since we've been back, people have asked the following questions:
1) so is gordon moving to houston now? no, he will continue working and living in austin until we find out if he's gotten into DTS
2) so what happens once you find out from DTS? if he gets in, we will need to figure out a timeline to pack up Gordon's condo, change out the flooring and some appliances and put it on the market; then we need to find a place in dallas and move Gordo's stuff to dallas; then we will need to figure out a timeline to pack up Yvonne's condo, fix up a few things, and put it on the market...sigh...can i go back to my honeymoon where the only thing i had to worry about was where to eat or which beach to visit?
3) what if gordon doesn't get into DTS? we don't know...we'd rather not think about it

we're happy to be back where chinese food is cheap and readily available. please keep us in your prayers as we learn how to be husband and wife and cope with the long distance marriage and all the decisions that will need to made this summer...thanks!!

fun and more fun

[gw] Thanks again everyone!! Just wanted to share some pics while we're packing up for honeymoon. Thanks to speedye for putting up this wedding group for us on FLICKR. Thanks guys! I'll also try to setup an FTP server before we leave so you can upload all your pics to us.

Just read this in USA Today. Coincidence? I think not. While yes, wifey did a lot of the work, I had a lot of work assigned to me as well. Still, the wedding went off beyond what we imagined and had tons of fun. Hope you did too!

So wifey and I came back to Austin, but noticed a foul smell. Hmmm, what could it be, the wet rocks from the centerpieces? no. .. . the dried roses? no . . . . I opened the fridge. Unmistakable. Fridge and freezer stopped working. :( All the food in the freezer went bad including the slices of wedding cake that we saved. sad. In any case, anyone in Austin know of a refrigerator repairman?

special meanings

So we decided to do a post for all the special meanings from the wedding.

theme : Squares - Gordon and Yvonne like clean lines and symmetry

colors: Pink - Color of the first roses Gordon gave Yvonne, Green - the color of Yvonne's wall in her home, Brown - the color of her couch where I proposed to her

favors: african boxes and tealights - Yvonne went on a mission trip to Kenya and then a week in Uganda by herself. It was when I saw her passion for missions and her returning back to me I knew I was going to marry her.

invitations: CD with slideshows - Yvonne and Gordon have made countless slideshows for friends and church so it was only fitting for them to do their own slideshow and put their invitation on a CD

Some of the gifts:
USB stick - first gift I got Yvonne (yes, I know, we're geeks like that.) She actually loved it.
Leatherman - always be prepared, I carry it around with me everywhere
Yvonne's favorite things - speaks for itself, all her favorite things
Flasks - cause I drink massive amounts of water
Down blanket - because Yvonne is always cold and needs a blanket...even in the summer!

stressed?

[gw] 5 more days. People are asking me if I'm stressed or excited or worried. Mmm, probably all three of those emotions at the same time. I'll be ready, just hopefully I'll get a little bit more rest. Are YOU ready?

single digits

[gw] 9 days. goodness gracious. nervous? no, not nervous. a bit worried. . . yep, worried. hope it won't be too hot. I'll melt.

deal of the month: Marie Callender's pies are on sale. $5.99 if you return a tin. (I keep a tin in the car for the month) I have the benefit of seeing the billboard for Marie's every day. Our favorite pie: Kahlua Cream Cheese. yum! We need to post a picture of that one.
